Stauffer Summer Music Festival – Sinfonia a due
The protagonists of the fourth evening of the Festival were two Stauffer alumni: violinist Simon Zhu, winner of the 57th “Paganini Prize,” and cellist Ettore Pagano, among the most appreciated in his generation.
The garden, illuminated by coloured lights, was filled with the sounds of solo pieces by Paganini and Bach, Piatti and Cassadó.
Tho follow, a rarely performed cycle by Reinhold Glière, in which the voices of the two instruments blended in a dialogue of scintillating virtuosity
