Farewell Maestro Meneses

Home > Farewell Maestro Meneses

The Stauffer Foundation mourns the premature death of Antonio Meneses, a great cellist and professor, who taught at the Stauffer Academy for almost ten years. His passion and dedication for music left an indelible imprint on dozens of students who had the fortune to study with him.

Meneses was a titan of the cello, an incomparable artist, a charismatic, rigorous, passionate and beloved teacher. The Stauffer Academy loses one of its points of reference, leaving a void that will be difficult to fill. His legacy will live forever in the many cellists who studied with him here in Cremona, and the musical life of our Institution will remain as a future testimony of his inestimable legacy.

In this painful moment, we express our deepest condolences to the family and all those who were close to the Maestro.
