The masterclass includes two sessions, from 28 to 31 January 2025 and from 20 to 23 May 2025, focused on the technical/interpretive refinement of pieces from the violin repertoire and the preparation of the artistic performance.
The course is open to graduated violinists not older than 30 years, who are enrolled in the annual courses of the Stauffer Academy, as well as to external students. 50 % of the available places will be reserved for internal students.
A piano accompanist will be available for the whole duration of the course.
The masterclass is aimed at violinists with a first or second-level degree, or equivalent training. Exceptions to the above requirements may be considered in presence of exceptional artistic qualities, at the Professor’s discretion.
Language: Italian and English.

Requirements:

- Copy of a valid ID;
- Curriculum vitae and the repertoire already studied;
- Link to video audition (see below).
The entrance examination consists of a video audition. The candidate must create a link to a YouTube video, specifying the programme in the description.

Programme
Two pieces from different periods/styles, for a total duration of about 10 minutes.
Applicants will receive the results of the auditions at the e-mail address provided during registration, approximately one month before the start of the course.
A registration fee of €55.00 is required for the application. Online payment is activated upon the submission of the application.
Students enrolled on the Stauffer Academy annual courses are exempt from the registration fee.
The registration fee is non-refundable.
Attendance fees are entirely supported by the Stauffer Foundation.
Other expenses related to travel, board and lodging in Cremona are borne by the students.
