Music e Management for the artists of tomorrow
Now in its third year, the collaboration between the Stauffer Academy and the Sorbonne in Paris continues to expand. Each year, students from the Master in Music Administration and Management develop a promotional strategy for an artist or ensemble from Stauffer. In 2025, cellist Paolo Tedesco will be the protagonist of this project, which will culminate in a recital on May 19 at the Amphithéâtre Richelieu of the Sorbonne.
In a world increasingly shaped by new information and communication technologies, the globalization and the evolution of the music industry, the organization of artists’ promotion is constantly changing, leading to the concept of the “artist-manager.” At the same time, it remains crucial for musicians to be supported by a strong management team and high-profile consultants who can implement a strategic portfolio to ensure optimal visibility.
Within this framework, a fruitful partnership has been established between the Stauffer Academy and the University of Sorbonne, specifically with the Master in Music Administration and Management. As part of this collaboration, each year a group of students from Sorbonne develops a promotional strategy for a Stauffer soloist or chamber ensemble. In 2025, following the violinist Giulia Rimonda (2023) and the Rilke Quartet (2024), the selected artist will be cellist Paolo Tedesco. The management project developed by three students from the French university – Maëlle Bourget, Gaëlle El Khawly e Esther Amant-Delnevo – will culminate in a recital of Tedesco on May 19 at the Amphithéâtre Richelieu of the Sorbonne.
On the same stage, on March 18, 2025, selected Stauffer musicians will play the first parts of the Sorbonne Orchestra in Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol, conducted by Nicolás Agulló.
