Andrea Lucchesini
Andrea Lucchesini studied with Maria Tipo and attracted the musical world’s attention at a very young age, when he won the Dino Ciani International Competition at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Since then, he has performed worldwide with the finest orchestras and most-renowned conductors.
In recent years, Lucchesini has enthusiastically delved into Schubert’s works, beginning with the recording for AVIE Records of Impromptus, praised by the specialized press. For the AVIE label, he also recorded the complete piano works of Luciano Berio, a CD that immediately became recognized as the edition of reference.
In 2018, Lucchesini began collaborating with the German label AUDITE. This partnership first resulted in Dialogues, a recording of works by Berio and Scarlatti as well as Schubert and Widmann, widely celebrated by international critics. His following three CDs with the label, dedicated to Schubert’s final compositions, also received rave reviews around the world.
In addition to recitals and concerts with orchestra, Lucchesini has always paid particular attention to chamber music as well, collaborating with illustrious partners.
Engaged in the fields of education and concert curation, Andrea Lucchesini has served as Director of both the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole (2008-2016) and the Accademia Filarmonica Romana (2018-2021). He is currently the Artistic Director of the Amici della Musica di Firenze.
