Interpreting Sound
The masterclass will be structured in two sessions of four days each: November 25-28, 2024, and February 25-28, 2025. The students will focus on the personal search of sound as a reflection of their personality in the music they interpret.
At least one of the pieces studied in November will have to be presented again in February.
The course is open to graduated violinists not older than 30 years, who are enrolled in the annual courses of the Stauffer Academy, as well as to external students. 50 % of the available places will be reserved for internal students.
A piano accompanist will be available for the whole duration of the course.
The masterclass is aimed at violinists with a first or second-level degree, or equivalent training. Exceptions to the above requirements may be considered in presence of exceptional artistic qualities, at the Professor’s discretion.
